FACT SHEET 4: DEMOLITION OF DEPOT AREA ZONE (5+6)

Location: Tadji Military Base

  Quality of Performance

The quality of work performed was exceptional. The final cleared field was virtually pristine and showed no evidence of the structure formerly located there.

  Timeliness of Performance

Work was completed within budget and on schedule.

  Economy of Problem Resolution

Because of the complexity of this structure and the amount of heavy equipment required for the demolition, the task was subdivided into five segments: Initial clearing and debris removal, heavy disassembly of internal works, a second clearing of all removed steelwork, final demolition of the masonry works, and finally removal of masonry and ground leveling. Integrity was maintained, leading to better productivity and safety.
